Rose can’t use the excuse that he’s ‘got no sense of time’ – after all if this was the case sometimes he’d be early and start performing before the doors opened.

After catching the blistering set at Reading, I wanted nothing more than to scoop up the first re-released ticket from Manchester I could, but now the only thing stopping me is the ides of having to slum it with the assholes that have nothing better to do than whine and moan because it’s past their bedtime. They all complain about Axl throwing tantrums – all while throwing their own little tantrums because – shock horror – a rock-star is actually acting unpredictably! You’ve had 23 years to get used to his lack of punctuality, don’t ruin it for the rest of us that actually want to see the show.

Poppycock! Anyway, TV is correct, don’t go if you don’t like it. I don’t. I saw the proper band twice in their heyday, and they were decent enough without being brilliant. As for paying fifty quid to see the fat simpleton (eventually) plod around the stage with a bunch of hired hands, well…….I wouldn’t pay fifty bloody pence. The new album is okay at best, a complete dirge at worst. Theres bareley a memorable song on it, why anyone goes to see this sham is quite beyond me. But the tickets sell well, so what do I know ????

Fair enough(some assholes have jobs that require them to be awake the following day tho), but it’s very rude of Axl to keep his (paying) audience waiting for so long due the fact that he ‘needs to warm his voice up’. Every singer needs to to this but you don’t hear about other bands being late because of this.

Axl is showing an incredible amount of contempt & disrespect to the fans by leaving them stood in a field exposed to the elements while – as Seb would have us believe – he waits for that nauseating shrill-of-a-voice to be ‘just right’! In my opinion, the ‘voice-not-quite-ready-yet’ is a smokescreen – he knows damn well that going onstage late & breaking curfews is gonna cause both controversy & headlines. How much media coverage do you think the band would get if there was only the performance to talk about? This incarnation of Guns n’ Roses is almost completely unrecognisable to the band who had that street-gang attitude in the ’80’s, & what Axl is doing is playing the cards that he has left to maximum effect. Don’t lose sight of the fact that it ain’t the promoters who are tryin’ to fuck you, as Axl stated from the stage at Reading, it’s Axl himself who is doing all the fuckin’, & he’s doing it deliberately.

TV. You know, i’ve been to a lot of shows, as have many. You see the warm-up, it’s a good band, good music, yeah, you’re warmed up and ready for the real reason you’re there…..to see your idol(’s) play your favourite tunes so you can sing along, air guitar, jump or, in some cases, mosh around. So, said warm-up leave the stage, you go off for a beer, piss, come back to your mates and casually chat while watching the crew pull down support gear and set up your bands gear. You recognise some things, a guitar here, a mic stand from that vidoe there, that gimmick that has been ever present since there early days, depending on the band, of course. Then the sound check of instruments and mics. Then you wait for a sign the band is coming. You wait……wait…..then the house lights go down, goosebumps, instant excitement, YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!! Ah, but this doesn’t happen at a (ahem, ‘cough’) Guns N’ Roses show. You have waited, waited……waited…….still waiting…….where are they? Still waiting, bored, fed up with craning your neck to see if anything is happening. You can feel the collective impatience building, even see some filing out, totally disgusted. Time draws on even longer, people are beyond patience now, bottles start flying. In such a confined space, it’s just ridiculous trying to wait and hold patient. Now, if you think yourself that this is acceptable, well indeed, that is your right to think that way. But in a situation of, say, 10,000 paying (dwindling) fans waiting to the point of anger, don’t you think a tosser like Mr. Bailey could show some consideration to the needs or desires of the majority and get on stage on time? Axl can be a bad boy, if he so feels the need, by punching out a paparazzi, or knocking over a vase of hyacinths in the hotel reception, but not like this. People do have to work next day, catch trains or buses home or what-not. Now, Mr. TV, go back to your small, not much it would seem happening world and just look closer at the situation and tell me then that you REALLY think he’s within his rights or thinking straight. When i went to leeds it took exactly ann hour to swap to there stage gear, a small price to pay for such an excellent show and in his defence, The band startd as soon as the last tech walked off the stage. If he ever is an hour late. I have been to 5 of his new shows and an hour is well worth the wait.
