I just started listening to manowar, went through there history, and as a drummer myself, the drums may have been triggered...WHO CARES!!! go after the best sound possible. I record drum tracks in my studio too for clients all over the world, and do many projects with different acts. i use loops and click tracks..It just helps keep the music honest, and doesnt hurt the performance live. I actually prefer to have a loop or click track live. and triggered drums. Its consistent, and just sounds good. My 2 cents. How can they do some of that orchestration without having some kind of reference to make things work...Its Still METAL, and all three Drummers Scott, Donnie, oden all play great, fast feet, strong groove, hard hitters that play real smooth. Some people disagree and dont get along. the music lives on..Peace

HUGE MANOWAR FAN... But horribly disappointed. I feel so cheated. But it's nothing new. Look on the website. Karl Logan private webcam guitar lessons for hundreds of dollars?! With a disclaimer that "only one person allowed to watch and participate"! It's sad, and it's sickening that Manowar are the posers. I'm not being mean; just honest. It hurts me just as much as any true brother.

I was THIS close to getting the Sign of the Hammer on my arm, mainly because no other band has followers, brothers, like Manowar does. To me, The Sign represents that trueness.

I'm really glad I didn't follow through on it.

RIP Scott - I hope where you are in this moment is in a more pleasant place than this great earth. As we say in Greece "God Forgive him". I hope you enjoyed your life it sure looks like you did and you will forever be remembered by all the Manowarians and Metal heads. Your name will live for years to come.

A mighty Hail to you as from what I can understand you deserve all the glory as to no man you kneeled!

I am a MANOWAR fan for over 20 years now. It's true the songs are not that powerful anymore after louder than Hell but don't forget that we are talking about a band that is in the music bussines for over 30 years now,who gave us plenty of great songs and plenty of great fucking shows.Let's not forget that easaly and be ungrateful. They deserve more than that.About Scott leaving MANOWAR,I was really sad when I found out about that, and I still am,and deep inside I hope that in a magical way, somehow,he will rejoin the band."Hope dies last" as we say here in Greece. And it dosn't cost a thing. It's for free.Nomatter what Scott will decide to do from knowon I wish him the best of luck,no,no,not luck,he dosn't need wishes for luck,he's got talent, rare talent,he's one of the greatest drummers ever!So I just wish him the best. One last thing...I want to remind you all people that MANOWAR stand for making great music and for respecting the fans, thatfor I expect to hear from MANOWAR about what happened with Scott and why the fans diden't know anything about all that, all this time.Eric,Joey,Karl please come out and let us know the truth, from the heart,we true believers, who stood behind you all those years have earned the right to know!P.S.:Scott come back again togreece sometime!!!!!!!!!

Manowar has always been a good band and have never ceased to be creative...until now. To re record Battly Hymns tells me that maybe the band has writers block like AC/DC does.

As far as merchandising goes, well, a lot of bands do that now these days. when you get older, you look for ways to keep making money. Manowar have been around almost 30 years. They are getting older and tired. So like any band, they look for creative alternatives to keep making money. they have bills to pay too. i think the spirit and heart is still there with manowar.

im not saying i agree with it. thats just how it is. these guys are probably in their late 50's now and they want to take it easy.

as long as they don't have justin timberlake or n sync performing with them at a charity concert, i think its safe to say Manowar aren't sellouts.

I really liked Gods of War for the most part, however the thing that has really been hurting Manowar for years is real simple. Karl Logan. Super nice guy and great guitarst, he can shred a solo easily but his guitar sound is over produced and lacks the emotion that Ross had. (shankle had a really good sound on TOS). The new version of Battle Hymn is lacking the heart the original had (I do like the version of dark Avenger (minus the narration). Guys I think Manowar has done like a lot of us. They have grown older and are starting to go through the motions. As far as the Scott Columbus stuff, I saw manowar at Al Rosa in OHIO years ago and asked him how his son was doing and he said fine. He didn't lie to me but he didn't deny either. At the end of the day, who gives a shit,it was there business anyway.
I am going to see them in march and I hope they put on the show they did back in 96 in Al Rosa, it was awesome! I saw them again at Annies a year or so later and that show was lacking (I think they were exhausted). I look forward to that trip and hope to be blown away one last time!
