Rush Take Action Against Talk Show Host
Rush are threatening legal action against Rush Limbaugh.
The controversial conservative US radio talk show host has been using The Spirit Of Radio before and after commercial breaks on his syndicated programme, which is called The Rush Limbaugh Show, the highest talk radio programme in America.
Now Rush (the band) have had their lawyers write a cease-and-desist letter to Rush (the radio host).
Part of this says: ‘The use of Rush’s music in this manner implies an endorsement of the views expressed and products advertised on the show, and is in breach of not only copyright and trademark rights, but also, of section 51 of the New York Civil Rights Law … Accordingly, we hereby demand that you immediately stop all use of Rush’s music and confirm that you will do so.’
Now, Rage Against The Machine angry at Limbaugh, for playing Sleep Now In The Fire on show today (March 9). When told about this, guitarist Tom Morello just said: “Our response is, ‘Hey, jackass, stop using our music on your racist, misogynist, right-wing clown show’.” Nope, they’re not fans!
