Alex Lifeson of prog-rock royalty Rush has spoken out about the band’s recording future, a third greatest hits package and celebrating the band’s 35th anniversary next year.
In an interview with Toledoblade.com, Lifeson has said: ““There are a number of options open to us. I think the most likely is that we’ll record another record and tour off that. Working with [Snakes And Arrows producer] Nick Raskulinecz, he’s pushing us to think about doing another sort of concept record … instead of just a thematically conceptual album like the most current records are. Whether we’re up for that kind of thing, I’m not so sure. We’ll have to wait and see.”

God would i like rush to go back to 76-79 era concept album. I like the Knew stuff but 2112, a farewell to kings and hemispheres are so damn good. (also moving pictures a little latter)
Every album these ‘”gods” do is brilliant, having been a fan for such a long time I would enjoy any new music from them, in any direction they choose to go in.
A CONCEPT ALBUM WOULD BE GREAT, BUT DO WE REALY NEED ANOTHER GREATEST HITS ALBUM.
What can I say I have been a Rush fan since 1979,and I love all there album’s and listen to them all the time. As far as another greatist hit album that’s not needed, but a new album would be awesome followed by another tour and possibly there last tour HEY I,M THERE!!! I can’t wait for there new album when ever they decide to make it I will be waiting along with all my fellow Rush fan’s on myspace!! Rush on my friend’s Rush on!!!
Maybe Neil will dust off the Sir Gawain & The Green Knight stuff that never actually saw the light of day?
ive been dreaming about RUSH doing another concept album since the eighties, come on boys do it for the fans you know it makes sence
BobH: Musically, that pretty much got recycled as Natural Science.
Lyrically, I don’t see it happening.
if i were shipwrecked or something and could only have 5 albums 2112 would be one of them
