Rush get hands dirty at RockWalk induction

Rush were inducted into Guitar Center’s RockWalk on Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, yesterday. View the video below.

It’s the latest in a string of honours for Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, who have also finally been nominated for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

RockWalk chairman Dave Weiderman said: “Not only is Rush extraordinary as a band, but each member is incredibly talented in their own right. This group has consistently delivered skilled musicianship, experimental drive and diverse rock to fans worldwide.”

Frontman Lee commented: “We’re very pleased to have been chosen by our peers and fellow musicians. It’s an honour to have our names added to this illustrious list of great and highly talented musicians.”

But Lifeson – recently named the greatest ever Canadian guitarist – took a different tack in his brief acceptance speech. He said: “On behalf of Geddy and Neil, I’m great. You’re very lucky we’re here.”
