More than 1,000 fans gathered on Sunday, May 30, at a public memorial service for the late Ronnie James Dio, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Among those paying tribute during the ceremony were Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Joey Belladonna (Anthrax), Glenn Hughes, Claude Schnell (Dio) and Scott Warren (Dio, Heaven & Hell).

Dio’s widow and manager, Wendy, his son, Dan Padavona, and cousin David ‘Rock’ Feinstein also took part.

RIP Dio, wish I could afford to go there to pay my respects but I can do so by continuing to play his music, the man had an outstanding legacy, from the Vegas Kings to Heaven And Hell

There are some pre-Elf Dio songs on iTunes when he was with the Prophets and a solo 1960’s effort, I do hope that Classic Rock will have an issue about Dio and his amazing career that spans over 50 years

I totally agree with Kestrel. I’ll be looking forward to CR issuing a mag dedicated to Dio. If they’ve done it with Slash and with Prog, they too can make it!
