Ronnie James Dio Diagnosed With Cancer

Ronnie James Dio is suffering from cancer – but fortunately, this seems to have been caught in time for treatment to be successful.
An official statement from his management says:
‘Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.
‘Thanks to all the friends and fans around the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up.
‘Long Live Rock And Roll, Long Live Ronnie James Dio.’

I was due to see Dio in Glasgow on Saturday and was bitterly disappointed that the show was cancelled. However it will have been worth it when Ronnie James makes a full recovery. Long live Rock!
There is only one voice that defines rock and it has to be Ronnie. Really hope the Holy Diver makes a speedy recovery and that he’s up on that stage again before too long.
He WILL beat this.

Awful news this, I was going to see him for the second time (First time was on the last date of the 2007 Heaven and Hell world tour) in Bristol this week, thought it’d be a minor problem when the tour was cancelled. It goes without saying that his millions of fans are behind him, and I have no doubt he’s going to get through this, stronger than ever.
