Rolling Stones Go Back Into Exile
The Rolling Stones will reissue their celebrated Exile On Main Street album on May 17 – and it will have no less than 10 previously unreleased songs.
There will be three versions: the original 18 tracks on one CD, a deluxe edition with those 10 extra songs, and a super-deluxe version. The last one will include vinyl and a 30-minute DVD, with footage from both Cocksuckers Blues and Ladies And Gentlemen… The Rolling Stones. This also has a 50-page book, with photos from that era.
Among the 10 ‘new’ songs are Plundered My Soul, Dancing In The Light, Following The River and Pass The Wine. These, and the other six extras, were produced by the Glimmer Twins, Jimmy Miller and Don Was.
In related news, Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings (featuring Bill Wyman who, of course, was the bassist on this album) play the IndigO2 in London on May 4.
