Live in Paris: the Rolling Stones

A cardboard guitar given by Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards to bandmate Ronnie Wood has sold at auction for $6,875.

It was among a number of high-priced items offered by Wood’s ex-wife Jo in a sale he said he was “shocked” and “staggered” over, claiming she had no right to part with his property.

His sketch of Eric Clapton playing guitar sold for $5,120; a Fender Strat he’d played on stage for years brought in $60,800 and an upright piano played by Wood, Richards and Mick Jagger went for $12,800.

Amongst the clothing on sale was a yellow leather jacket ($7040), a Versace wool suit ($4,687) and a coat Wood wore on stage ($8,320).

Even a set list from the Ronnie Wood Licks Tour sold for $1,920.

Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones have released a short clip from last week’s “secret” warm-up show in Paris ahead of their sold-out 50th anniversary shows in London and New York. View it below.

The band have announced a limited-edition Japanese whisky blend, which includes malts bottled during key years in their history.

Only 150 units will be sold, presented in a crystal bottle featuring their lips and tongue logo.
