Rod Stewart Will Play With The Faces At Hall Of Fame
Although they’re just about 48 hours from induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, The Faces still don’t know what they’ll be performing live on the night.
Drummer Kenney Jones has told Billboard that Rod Stewart will now definitely join himself, guitarist Ronnie Wood and keyboard player Ian McLagan.
One problem, however – they’ve yet to have a rehearsal. Plus ça change, as they say…
Says Jones: “We haven’t made our mind up totally on what we’re gonna do because everything in The Faces, it’s always a surprise.”
The band also don’t know who’ll be playing bass, filling in for the late Ronnie Lane.
“Everybody who’s there in the induction wants to play bass with us, so we’re kind of leaving it for the last minute.”
The clever money is on Stay With Me being part of the short set, with one Small Faces song also being included; the latter band are being inducted at the same time. All will be revealed in Cleveland on Sunday (April 14).
As for the future, Jones says new Faces music isn’t out of the question.
“Woody’s got some songs. Everyone’s got some different ideas, and it would be lovely to go in the studio and do something.”
Jones, Wood and ex-Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor have apparently been working on a song that will be used in the season finale of TV series CSI: Miami.
