Is this the supergroup to end all supergroups? A band featuring current and former members of Kiss, Def Leppard, Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row, The Cult, Collective Soul, Billy Idol’s band, Deep Purple and Alice In Chains begin a South American tour tomorrow.
The Rock-N-Roll Allstars comprise Gene Simmons (Kiss); Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke (Guns N’ Roses); Sebastian Bach (Skid Row); Billy Duffy (The Cult); Ed Roland (Collective Soul); Steve Stevens (Billy Idol); Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple); and Mike Inez (Alice In Chains).
The South American tour is being billed as “a once-in-a-lifetime gathering of rock icons” and “a live show unlike any before”.
Glenn Hughes said: “It’s going to be quite a spectacle. For me, this collective of rockers is a fan’s dream come true. It’s a great line-up with players from a lot of great bands.”
The Rock-N-Roll Allstars will perform a two-hour set, playing the biggest hits from their various bands.
The Rock-N-Roll Allstars are also participating in a Live Web Video Q&A in Argentina on April 23. This is being run by Ortsbo (www.ortsbo.com), which enables real-time conversational translation for more than 50 languages.
