Robert Plant is to release a new solo album later this year.
According to a report here, Percy will call this record It’s Rude To Say No. Plant is working in Nashville with producer Buddy Miller and one guest on the album is singer-songwriter Darrell Scott.
It’s not known if Alison Krauss, with whom Plant recorded the acclaimed Raising Sand album, will be involved.
Scott says of working with the one-time Led Zeppelin frontman:
“Those two-plus weeks were some of the most memorable times I’ve ever had in the studio. The number one thing is that Robert loves music. You think they’re posing and just getting through it, but I was humbled with how Robert Plant loved the music – old country, blues, rockabilly…”

On your own, Percy.
Ironic title. Page should’ve thought of it first.
Very good ! but I`d rather see him fronting Led Zeppelin just one more time for a proper farewell tour , I appreciate his love all other kinds of music although some of it wouldn´t agree with me but , I remember reading an interview with Percy just after the reunion in London where he claimed he was too old for touring again etc then , proceeded to go out on tour with Alison Krauss ! Look , it´s not up to me to dictate too Robert Plant what musical path he should take , I just miss the magic of Led Zeppelin .
A Plant solo album is always something to look forward to in my opinion. I feel that he was at the very top of his game with “Dreamland” and “Mighty Rearranger” (and arguably Fate of Nations before them). Sounds like he is continuing the “rootsy” approach of Raising Sand, so will be interesting what direction he takes that in if I’m right. Personally I would prefer something closer to his last two solo records than RS, but with Plant it’s wondering what you will get that is half the fun.
Is Percy taking the mick? It’s Rude To Say No? As in it’s rude to say no to millions of Led Zeppelin fans asking them to do a couple of Knebworth shows?
While I would rather see Robert fronting Led Zep again, this solo album should be more like “Big Log” than Alison Krauss.
Geeez, when are you people going to let the Zep rest in peace ? If you were there to see any of the shows from the ‘73, ‘75 or ‘77 tours you have to realize the magic will NEVER be repeated. Plant must feel the same way, so wake up and stop dreaming.
Excellent news! Seen several Plant solo tours and they’ve all been brilliant. Can’t wait for the new album on inevitable tour.
Raising sand is the work of the devil…… Lets get back on track Percy before its to late. Where are the classic Sensations when you need them?….
Looks like AK has kicked Plant into touch.
The boderline here we come….

Thank GOD! Whatever he does will be amazing as long as it’s SOLO. LOVE him singing alone because then he can SOAR! Really waiting on THIS TOUR also! Even if it’s strictly “blue grass” HE will make it HOT!”
