Ritchie Blackmore is a dad again – at the age of 65.
The legendary Deep Purple/Rainbow guitarist and his wife, Blackmore’s Night singer Candice Night, have a daughter. They’ve named her Autumn Esmerelda – which will surprise nobody.
She’s said to be the inspiration for the new Blackmore’s Night album, Autumn Sky, due out later in the year.

I was shocked to hear the news but Candice will make a great mum so I’m sooooooooo ecstatic and happy or them. from what I hear she’s perfect and was born in May. congratulations to them both and I wish them all the happiness in the world
Congrats you old goat….hopefully you got it out of your system now and go back to real music….playing that wicked Stratocaster and some real hard rock music !! Enough of that crappy pussy music with the missus, it´s basically the same album on repeat release after release !!!
Congrats to Candice and Ritchie. Everyone’s having babies this year. Maybe Mick Jagger and I should have twins!
Be Welcome little Autumn! She is already bring to us Happiness and Joy!
Yay to the Lil Princess!
Yes, congratulations to the Blackmores. You have to admire Ritchie for not reforming Rainbow for a few months.
Congratulations to them. Heard the rumours a while back, how nice in this media obsessed celebrity age that they’ve kept something so very special to themselves. A bit spooky if the baby was born in May when RJD passed away, probably explains why they didn’t make an announcement at the time.
Wishing all the best to the 3 of them for the future, and greatly looking forward to the new album

What a shame you can’t keep your closed-minded musical opinions to yourself. Ritchie has always loved including Renaissance elements in his music, and had often said he is now playing the music he always wanted to. The Blackmore’s Night albums are all very enjoyable {though like any band, there are some dud songs here and there}, and they do play some harder Rock songs, both covers and originals.
Fortunately, for every elitist Deep Purple or Rainbow fan Blackmore’s Night has lost {not all that many, it seems}, there will be many more new fans happy to listen.
Blackmores Night – The Next Generation – Congratulations !
Congratulations !!! I know it will make you both very happy . Blackmore’ s Night helped me through some very hard times with their music . Thank you . All i can say is that we have no right to criticize Ritchie for any of his music . Maybe it is evolution of a great musician . Ritchie was a wild man when he was young , now he is just having a good time , and it is certainly not retirement . Keep up the great work and hope to see you in Canada , i hope . It is getting expensive to go to Czech every year to see you . But worth it . Martin
wish you would REALLY get back toplaying real rock not this renaissance junk!! friends went to see you and left after the 5th song!! funny thing is, when your wife came out, they thought it was a stevie nicks tribute band opening for you!! HILARIOUS!! …very halloweenish looking wife and the music was a bit over the top…many fans really miss the old deep purple/rainbow..by the way congrats to your son JURGEN on his great musical career~~!!!!
