Riot Guitarist Dies

Riot guitarist Mark Reale has died at the age of 56.

A founder member of the New York band, Reale has been in a coma for the past two weeks, after suffering a haemorrhage. He was hospitalised recently due to complications brought on by Crohn’s Disease.

This is the third death to affect the band. Original vocalist Guy Speranza passed away in 2003 from cancer, while his replacement Rhett Forrester was murdered in 1994.

Absolutely gutted to read this. A brilliantly talented musician and the driving force behind a band responsible for over 30 years of consistently excellent music: Fire Down Under, Born in America, Thundersteel, Nightbreaker… the list goes on. RIP Mark – a true metal legend.
