Remember The 5th Of November: A Fawkeing Soundtrack
It’s Guy Fawkes’ Night. Or Bonfire Night, if you prefer. When we ‘celebrate’ the fact that, 404 years ago, some bloke called Guy Fawkes and some of his pals failed to blow up the Houses Of Parliament.
We do it with fireworks displays which attempt to rival those at the end of every summer rock festival, and by throwing half-formed effigies of Master Fawkes on to a bonfire.
So, to get you in the mood, here’s the soundtrack for November 5 – we’ll call it the Classic Rock Guy-de to the day!
Fire – Arthur Brown
Shot Down In Flames – AC/DC
Dynamite – Scorpions
Rocket – Def Leppard
Boom Boom (Out Go The Lights) – Pat Travers
Burning For You – Blue Öyster Cult
I Got The Fire – Montrose
In The Heat Of The Night – Diamond Head
Hot Rockin’ – Judas Priest
Rocket Queen – Guns N’ Roses
Which song – or songs – would be your soundtrack to November 5? Post your comments!
