Queensryche ride tanks and are given a personalized sledgehammer after playing for US troops.
On Monday, May 18, Queensryche played for troops at Fort Benning, Georgia in between tour dates in support of their latest album, ‘American Soldier’.
Queensryche embarked upon rides in both a M1A1 Abrams tank and an M2 Bradley tank, dined with the troops and then played a show for everyone on Sledgehammer Field, Kelley Hill.
To commemorate the day, the band were given a personalized sledgehammer by the 3HBCT / 3 ID Sledgehammer Brigade (3rd Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division).
Queensryche will also play as part of this year’s Hard Rock Hell! Get more details on the festival here!

iv yet to hear any other british rock band to play for our troops.
Bout time Iron Maiden got round to doing that!
Newsflash: Queensryche aren’t British.
The M2 Bradley is not a tank – its a MICV designed to carry troops. Errrr….I know thats not very rock but I know this stuff! BTW at Bloodstock last year they had a pair of BRDM-2 (Russian built armoured cars) for no apparent reason other then I assume to please me. More features on armoured vehicles in rock please.
Newsflash, maiden to play for Australian, New Zealand, Peru, USA, Brazil, Columbian, Indian, Canada, French, German, Japan, and Mexico troops.
They might just be able to find time for the Britishm but dont bet on it.
