Geoff Tate calls out Queensryche haters
Geoff Tate has taken the bull by the horns in the face of criticism of new Queensryche album Frequency Unknown – he’s offering a prize for the best video rant from a hater who’s prepared to shed their anonymity.
Record label Cleopatra have even gone as far as to offer a free replacement to anyone who submits a receipt for the original release.
Now Tate has taken matters one step further. The band say on a website post (originally delivered in angry capitals): “Do you really hate the new Queensryche Frequency Unknown album? Have you already blogged about it online? Well metal geeks, if you got the balls to stand behind your opinion then here is the contest for you.
“Stop hiding behind your computer keyboards and smartphones, and show us how much you hate it by submitting your video rant to us via YouTube.
“Start by giving us your real name and proceed to rant away. Geoff will film himself choosing the best video rant and will post online for your enjoyment.
“The winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to seattle, washington to see queensryche in their home town on june 29th, along with vip special guest seating, meet and greet passes for after the show and a merchandise package worth $250 that he or she can feel free to either burn – or wear in styl
The winner will be given an all-expenses paid trip to Seattle to see Tate’s band perform on June 29, including VIP seating and meet-and-greet passes. The prize also includes $250 worth of merchandise, which, Queensyrche says, “he or she can feel free to either burn or wear in style.”
