Queen Confirm London Shows With Adam Lambert
Queen + Adam Lambert have now confirmed the dates of their two London shows in the summer.
They’ll happen at the Hammersmith Apollo on Wednesday, July 11 and Thursday, July 12.
Tickets will go on sale initially on a 24-hour presale to Queen Online subscribers, Queen Fan Club members and Sonisphere ticket holders from 9am on Tuesday, April 17.
Pre-sale details will be sent on to those who qualify via e-mail. General sales start on Wednesday April 18, from 9am at www.hmvapollo.com and through Ticketmaster.
Queen were a popular fixture at the venue in the 1970s, when it was known as Hammersmith Odeon (and to many, it will always be the Hammy O). They played four sold-out nights in late November/early December 1975, plus a Christmas Eve gig. Four years later they did the legendary Concert For The People Of Kampuchea on December 26.
“Somehow this feels right,” says guitarist Brian May. “The Odeon is a big part of our history, and its atmosphere is second to none. It’s the perfect place to acknowledge our faithful fans, and will be a fitting return to our roots!”
“We had made up our minds to play in the UK this year, so play we will,” adds drummer Roger Taylor “Following the collapse of the Sonisphere organisation we didn’t want to let down all those people expecting to see us live!”
