Prog Issue 3 Is Among Us

Issue 3 of Prog is now almost upon us, so a couple of tips for you readers before it hits the news stands on Wednesday 5 August.
As you may be aware, there are four different Rush covers inside the wallet of issue 3. So to help you readers make sure you get the cover you want all four separate covers, each featuring an iconic image from the band’s lengthy and successful career, are featured on the back of the wallet with their corresponding number. All you’ll need to do is peep through the die cut hole on the front of the wallet to see whether you’ve got 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 or 4/4. Saves you having to rip open the wallets in the store. Simples, as they might say on TV.

And also European and American readers can order issue 3 of Prog from www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk as of the morning of Wednesday 5 August, the day it goes on sale. We hope you enjoy the magazine as much as we enjoyed creating it. Next issue will be on sale on September 30.

great magazine just what all us fans of prog need more about 70s prog please chris

Ugh. Found the magazine on the site, but only UK and Europe orders.

Where’s the option to order in the U.S. which you said would be available?

Please make the option available for all of the Rush fans in the U.S.

As said above, please include a link so US readers can order!

I wonder how much “new” Rush material is in this magazine. Hard to believe that die-hard fans will find too much. Good to have it though.

YOU CAN NOT ORDER ISSUE 3 OR ANY PROG ISSUES AT MYFAVORITEMAGAZINES!!!!!

From Future Customer Service:

“Currently, we are unfortunately unable to accept online payment for single issue or product sales outside Europe. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

Yet, we can order issue 2 and have it sent from the states.

So once again, we get conflicting information over what’s possible. Do people actually talk to each other at Future to find out what’s happening, or do you make it up on the spot?

Be honest… you hate us Americans, right? Is it still the American Revolution thing or is it the way we take your TV shows and totally wreck them when we redo them for American audiences. (Coupling and Life on Mars comes to mind.)

Never has one company done so much to make it so hard to buy their product.

It wouldn’t be so bad if you said from the start that US residents can’t buy the magazine directly. But you did, yet we can’t.

Just spent 2hrs around Coventry looking for it. Is it really out today?

Just want to say that when I couldn’t find PROG # 2 here in Denmark (I found PROG # 1 and it cost twice as much here as in UK) I ordered it from the website but it got lost in the mail. After I had waited for 2 months without getting the magazine I wrote to the subscription department and they promptly sent me a replacement issue. So that is good service for the masses! I am a loyal subscriber to CLASSIC ROCK and have just renewed my subscription for the next two years – so I find their service is excellent.

Agent Robbo

getting a bit miffed that I’ve been buying ‘classic rock’ magazine since the first issue and now i’m expected to buy a seperate mag to read about the decent band that CR used to cover. Instead its more of the same in the proper mag.

Spunkbiscuit.

Please oh please could you sort out a subscription availability for the PROG magazine.

USA readers are many — the magazine’s hard to find — and expensive as a single issue.

Thanks!

..who can’t find Prog #3 at the link above. Typing “prog” in the search field brings up the Aug 09 ish of Classic Rock (Hendrix). Local bookstore didn’t have it, either; still had a lot of copies of the CR Metal/Summer ‘09 issue but that was it.

Please make it easier to get. I can’t get it anywhere in Scotland and can’t seem to order it anywhere. Does prog stop at the Watford Gap?

Unlike most people here I have had no problems getting either issue 2 or issue 3 which hit the stores yesterday. For anyone around the Glasgow area – go to Borders. I got mine in Borders at The Fort shopping centre but I know they have them in Buchanan Street shop also.

Why have all the shops that carry the mag have the same cover.Went into WHSmiths they only had cover 2 ,Hamiltons only had cover 3 and Borders again cover 2. Each newsagent had 5+ issues. Also the mag is expensive enough at £7.99 a time yet alone at these times trying to get Rush fans to part with the best part £32. Yeah we’re given the option but in future stick to one cover you know it makes sense.

Where can i find a copy of the Prog edition no3.My Local WH Smiths Gloucester & Cheltenham only stocked 7 copies each, what a joke. Please help !!!!

Now… if only I’d read this *before* I bought my copy. Curses! I guess I have to say Farewell to the cover I would have liked and accept that I have the pants version. :-)

Direct link is here http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/store/displayitem.asp?sid=421&id=30950

But I keep getting the message “Sorry, but the site cannot process orders at present.”

Sort it out please !

Keith,

You have to select whether it is coming to you or a gift (the choice is at the bottom. Once you get this, you can order. I just did to the US!

You need to make ordering this magazine easier. The whole process is a bit to convoluted. I live in Bermuda and tried all options to order Prog 2 & 3 and none would let buy and ship the magazine to Bermuda. The only option that worked was to get them shipped to my in-laws in Southampton which means that I won’t get to read this until Christmas. Luckily the contents of the magazine for the most part aren’t time sensitive. I also hope you start offering ongoing subscriptions to lessen the pain of doing this on a quarterly basis.

Im sure the new issue of classic rock prog, is fantastic, trouble is no one round my neck of the woods seems to be stocking it, great ay !!!…….. not

Holy Crums we can FINALLY order this online from the states!!!!! AND the link is actually WORKING

I’m sure issue 3 will become available on Amazon UK at some point. It’s easy to order things from Amazon.

Cant find No 3 prog mag anywhere near me. Even tried Borders!!

Now sold out on the my favourite magazines web site. I can’t find a single copy in any newsagent local to me in Essex. Why oh Why can’t I take out a subscription please and then be confident that I can get my copy. I have now missed out on all 3 copies and would loved to have bought them if they had been available.

Any suggestions please.

Listen to this one.
I have had the #3 Prog issue ordered from myfavorite for the last 3 weeks. I kept emailing them asking where my issue was so today I finally get this shocking and very unnacceptable message. I’ll tell you this not only am I cancelling all myfavorite mag subscriptions including Classic Rock I will tell all my run blogs and friends to follow suit.
“I am sorry we have had to refund against your stock order.

All orders are subject to availability at the time your order is processed and unfortunately (although available when you originally enquired) had been exhausted when your order was actioned.

I am sorry we are unable to supply and apologise for any disappointment this may cause.

For and on behalf of My Favourite Magazines.”

I got the same e-mail from Future Publishing/My Favourite Magazines. However,I was able to pick up a copy today at B&N.In fact,I could’ve picked up 6 copies had I wanted to and had the money, because that’s how many they had.

Also, they still had two copies of issue 2.

You might want to try B&N..

Richard

Do you have back issues available of the Classic Rock Prog Issue 3 for purchase and mailing to the US? If so, how much?
