Prog Blog: 5/5

Classic Rock Presents Prog have some exciting news ahead of their second issue. Come on in to find out what’s going on!

So issue 2 has finally been put to bed then, so we celebrated over the Bank Holiday weekend by popping down to Hampton Court Palace to see a wonderful show from Rick Wakeman as he performed The Six Wives Of Henry VIII. A great night, great show in a great setting. For us the highlights were Katherine Parr, Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII (the latter a track which didn’t feature on the original album owing to the running time, but has been revamped along with a couple of new numbers written especially for the occasion). Another newie, Tudor Rock, left everyone with a huge smile on their faces.

We think you’ll find issue 2 a step up from issue 1. The whole thing is a bit tighter, sharper and cleaner than issue 1 in every aspect and it’s chock full of some great features, a bigger reviews section and a few surprises to boot, and like issue 1 will come in a classy wallet with a free 12-track CD. More details to be unveiled in the run up to the on sale date of May 20.

Issue 1 has sold out, a terrific result and a huge thank you to all of you who went out and bought Classic Rock Presents Prog. Bearing that in mind we’re upping the print run for issue 2, and have made sure that www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk will be stocking a lot more copies as they sold out of issue 1 within a matter of days.

We’ll also be recording a new progcast over the next week, featuring Editor Jerry Ewing and a few of the magazine’s writers discussing various prog issues. If there’s anything specific you’d like to hear discussed e-mail us at: prog@futurenet.co.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.

Why not have a listen to our first progcast as well. We think you’ll enjoy it.

Exciting news! The long lost prog song “it’s the end of the world but not in my prism” by the lasercoated ice dragons has been found.

A mere 3 minute epic, that even us not prog types can understand, nearly.

Fantastic news

Finally found the first issue in a Barnes & Noble (here in the states) during a vacation last week. They had three copies. Was tempted to buy all three and sell two, but opted not to be greedy.

Please try to arrange for those of us in the states to buy directly from your site.
