Prog Blog – 25/3

Classic Rock Presents…Prog is on shelves today (March 25th) and CRP…P  editor Jerry Ewing has posted today’s edition of the Prog Blog in celebration.

So here we are, once more…

On sale today. We awaited the reader’s impressions of how the magazine looks and its contents with near breathless anticipation. Let us know what you think by e-mailing me at: prog@futurenet.co.uk.

With Pink Floyd on the cover of the magazine and it’s wallet, what better way to start today than with Pink Floyd themsleves. You’ll see on page 56 of the new issue, and the third part of our three-way Pink Floyd coverage, an unpublished interview with Pink Floyd’s Rick Wright from 1999. Seeing as the feature itself alludes to an original feature about the impending release of the 2000 live version of The Wall, Is There Anybody Out There…, which included exclusive interviews with Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason from issue 10 of Classic Rock, which appeared in January 2000, we thought it prudent to offer you a chance to read that feature as it ran nine years ago.

As that particular feature itself is about 12,000 words long, we’ve decided to run it in three parts. First up is the interview with Roger Waters. This in itself makes for fascinating reading. But you’ll also be able to read some of the exact things that Rick Wright alludes to in the newly published interview. We hope you’ll enjoy it.

And keep your eyes peeled for the David Gilmour and Nick Mason segments to be added throughout the month.

Any info on how to subscribe to Prog?

Good mag, glad to see prog back where it belongs. From an old git who was weaned on ELP, Genesis and Yes this is a breath of fresh air.
I am a huge fan of Porcupine Tree, Frost and Spock’s Beard and will probably listen to all the bands mentioned for more new blood.

One disparaging remark is the price. £7.99 is taking the mick do you not think when normal CR is around £4.99. That will take some explaining to the wife….

i have to agree a great mag but a crap priice very nearly didnt buy when i saw it was £7 99when you are getting classic rock but for prog so hopefully will be closer to classic rock price on issue 2

You’d think living in a major city like Southampton that I could find a copy of this mag fairly easily…. ‘fraid not!

I’ll keep looking though
