It is being alleged that Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will be going into the studio this coming January to begin work on the follow-up to their enormously successful ‘Raising Sand’ album.

The Birmingham Evening Mail is reporting an interview with Plant that took place on November 8th in which Plant said “In January, I’m starting to record a new album with Alison Krauss and T Bone Burnett” before also adding “I understand that everyone’s got to eat,” suggesting that he has given his blessing to the remaining Led Zeppelin members hitting the road without him.

He also revealed that “they won’t be calling it Led Zeppelin!”

I’m really pleased about this if true. I would of loved to have seen a fully fledged Led Zep tour, I’m sure like many others. But I’ll fully endorse whatever Plant decides to do next. I thought the Plant/Krauss album, Raising Sand was brilliant and the gig at Wembley I saw them at was nothing short of spellbinding!

I’ll be following the work of the other surviving members of Zeppelin with great interest also.
