‘Perverted’ Rammstein Album Banned In Germany
Rammstein’s new album, Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da, might be selling like crazy around the globe, but it’s not going down to well in their native Germany. At least with the authorities.
As of November 11, it is being banned from public display, by the Federal Office For The Display Of Media Harmful To Children, which is a legitimate arm of the German government. Apparently, they object to the sad-masochism inherent in the song Ich Teu Dir Weh, and also the cover, which shows guitarist Richard Kruspe, with a naked, masked girl over his knees. The office also doesn’t like the single Pussy, which they reckon will lead to an increase in the number of AIDS cases, because it encourages unprotected sex.
So, what do you think? Are Rammstein peddling dangerous perversions, or harmless fun? Let us know below.

I was looking forward to the new album, hoping for a return to form. Rosenrot was patchy, but as it was essentially unused outtakes from the Reise Reise sessions this was excusable and it did some good tracks and a few great ones. I bought the new album (with the extra tracks) but have found it very hard to get into and there is little to distinguish many of the tracks from each other – very disappointing. Hope that it grows on me the more I play it – not so bothered about the German lyrics as I don’t understand them! ‘Pussy’ is lyrically crude – they could’ve made it more interesting by using innuendo and double meaning (like they did with the less controversial ‘Du hast’ – you have/you hate)
harmless fun its not meant to be serious
kids want to see hear the album they’ll always find a way around the laws…
Personally I reckon its a bit of fun myself… music isn’t harmful unless the person listening already has the pre-disposition in their minds to take it too literally. Or if certain parts of the media get a hold of it and cause a fuss like they did back in the 80s.
Well, I think that it’s stupid to ban it. Maybe if this office of federal children stuff is so offended by it, then they should ban it for everybody under 18 like they did in Australia. And in my opinion every Rammstein album is kinda perverted or sick, but that’s what makes this band so great.

Anyone with half a brain knows these guys have their tongues firmly planted in their cheeks, and anyone insulted or offended by their antics should just shove their heads back in the sand, put their fingers in their ears and sing lalalalalalalala!
Duck and cover, the Germans are coming!
Personally, I just want to know which member posed for which *ahem* member…
