Paul Stanley Says New Kiss Album Is ‘Classic’
The new Kiss album “rocks big time”, according to the band’s vocalist/guitarist Paul Stanley. We should damn well hope so.
Stanley recently issued the following statement to www.kissonline.com:
“We’re about four days from finishing the new Kiss album. Eleven tracks, and it is everything I’ve told you. It is classic. It is all written within the band. And it rocks big time!
“Tommy [Thayer, guitar] and Eric (Singer, drums] both handle lead vocals. The songs, sound and playing will knock your socks off. You will all be as proud and excited as we all are. Oh…and WAIT till you see the cover!
We ARE just getting started!”
Stanley’s hyperbole was matched by bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons’s comments earlier this month:
“This might be the best new record we’ve done since [1976 album] Destroyer. In fact, it has a similar sound – Rock And Roll Over-meets-Love Gun kind of a record.”
The new Kiss album is due for release in September/October.

I really, really hope the album lives up to Paul & Gene’s hype, but if they can truly revisit the Destroyer/Love Gun sound now, why didn’t they do it years ago? I have my fingers firmly crossed, and will try to but my doubts away.
They should have listened to Ace and made more records with Eddie Kramer.
I don’t give a shit about Gene and his cabaret act.
YEAAAAH!!!!!! Whoo Hoo!!
Just release it now!
Come on!!!!
[...] Woah yeeeeeah. *Ahem*. Head on over to Classic Rock to hear the latest behind the new Kiss album. Paul Stanley promises it “will knock your socks off”. Get the full story here! [...]
As a MASSIVE Kiss fan I can’t help get excited about this!!
OK so its not got Ace or Peter on it, OK Psycho Circus was a bit disappointing, OK 12 months ago they said they’d never do another album cos it wasn’t worth it financially, thus rendering this new album as nothing but a way to make a fast buck (I know thats what albums are for – its just so blantat with these guys though)
I still think this could be at least every bit as good as Revenge which was a belter of an album!
And maybe we’ll get a tour next year as well!!Here’s hoping…..
Now they just need to announce a UK tour later in the year to promote it. We’ll probably not see them until next year though.
KISS last album was all Stanley/Simmons
with only 1 Frehley track. It should have been
produced by Kramer. I liked it but didn’t like
that Ace & Peter weren’t really part of it. I
hope with Singer/Thayer they can go back
to the classic sound. Rock n roll needs KISS
to come back & help other bands like UFO,
Y&T, Saxon etc.. bring back real music!
KISS are nothing without the mighty ACE FREHLEY!
should have ace in the band
“should have ace in the band”
No they shouldn’t. As much as Ilike Ace he is too prone to falling off the wagon and arsing everything up and Stanley and Simmons know this.
Tommy is a professional musician who gets paid a wage so he has to be up to the task or he’ll be replaced by someone else.
at long last a true rock n roll record !
Tommy Thayer is a joke. KISS without Ace is just a vehicle for the limp Chaim Witz/Stanley Eisen Band to make another buck. Paul has been dragging Gene’s no talent arse around for 20 years and it shows. Never has there been a more pathetic and ugly demise of a once great rock n roll band as KISS.
Bugger off, Gene.
