Our Top 10 Thunder Tracks

terrybezer / News / 25/01/2009 15:56pm

In ode to the soon-to-be-defunct British legends, we pick our top ten Thunder tracks for your enjoyment.

10. Higher Ground

Taken from the band’s debut album, ‘Higher Ground’ is a masterclass of how ace Thunder were at the art of the power ballad.

9. On The Radio

Bowes and the boys detonate a transistor-melting tune that kicks off about the fact that Thunder have never been a fixture on the airwaves. They’ve got a bloody point, haven’t they?

8. Stand Up

Sassy, slick and with more blues than a Smurf with a cold, the lead single from ‘Behind Closed Doors’ is an absolute belter.

7. She’s So Fine (live from Donington Monsters Of Rock 1990)

Check out the pipes on Danny Bowes in this live rendition of ‘She’s So Fine’ from 1990’s ‘Backstreet Symphony’. Very manly t-shirt rips in our video too, Danny boy!

6. Don’t Wait For Me (live form Donington Monsters of Rock, 1990)

We just wanted to have a look at Danny’s shirt again for a giggle. Sorry.

Thunder are one of my favourite bands. Seen them many times, even as Terraplane. Met them too. So I was absolutely gutted when I heard this news but it’s their decission and you have to respect it.

I wish all members Good Luck in all what they do and would like to Thank them for all the Great Music & Memories.

Maybe they will play the odd reunion show for The Fans you never know.

R.I.P. Thunder.

I Love You More Than Rock and Roll was always a personal fave of mine.

She’s So Fine at Donington 1990 was AWESOME! In fact, whenever I’m feeling down, I transport myself back there and remember the sunny day and their brilliant performance!

Saw them at Download last Saturday – steamingly good! I feel privileged to have seen them at their first and last Donington appearances. I couldn’t help but cry when they did Love Walked In…

Farewell, old friends!

SHE’S SO FINE LIVE IN CARDIFF WITH BON JOVI JUST BLEW THE WHOLE PLACE AWAY. GOOD LUCK TO THE GUYS IN WHAT EVER THEY DO NEXT. THANKS FOR 20 YEARS OF THE BEST FUN GIGS
