Original Alice In Chains Bassist Dies
Mike Starr, who was Alice In Chains first bassist, has been found dead.
His body was apparently discovered in a house in Salt Lake City. Starr, who was 44, had a history of addiction problems. He was with the band from the start until shortly after the release of the Dirt album in 1992.
Starr, who was arrested more than once on drugs charges, went public with his problems in the third series of the VH1 reality TV show Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. This followed the real life experiences of celebrity patients undergoing treatment for addiction at the Pasadena Recovery Center.
There’s nothing to suggest that foul play was involved.
