Nirvana To Release Special Edition Of Nevermind
Nirvana are to release a special 20th anniversary edition of the celebrated Nevermind album in late September.
The album, which has sold over 30 million copies so far, will be reissued in various formats. But the one that will most appeal to diehard fans is a super deluxe edition. Featuring four CDs and one DVD disc.
This will have the original album (now remastered) with all the singles B-sides, plus the demos recorded at producer Butch Vig’s Smart Studios and boombox recordings of rehearsals. In addition there are Vig’s own mixes of the tracks; the final version was mixed by Andy Wallace.
The DVD features the whole of a 1991 Halloween show at the Paramount Theater in Seattle. It also has the four videos shot for songs from Nevermind.
The box set will come with a 90-page book, which has rare and previously unseen photos, plus documents and other visuals from this era.
There are to be only be 40,000 copies of this super deluxe set available worldwide.
Nevermind will also be released in a two-CD deluxe format and a four-LP 180g edition.
