Porcupine Tree mainman Steven Wilson has revealed that his new project with Dream Theater’s Mike Portnoy and Mikael Akerfeldt of Opeth is now under way.
It’s been reported by Blabbermouth that Wilson has said of the current state of the unnamed collaboration:
“We wrote about 15 minutes of music last month in my studio near London and we’re very excited about it. I think people are going to be very surprised by the direction… It’s very arty, very ambitious; it’s going to be epic, very dark, very twisted, very experimental.”

Wow. This sounds like a dream team. Rock on!
Cool, what a line-up to start the ball rolling! But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE guys…..no Cookie Monster growling, Opeth are soooo much better when ACTUAL SINGING takes place.
On the negative side – I guess that’s Blackfield out of action for another chunk of time….pisser.
Actually, the growls are really quite awesome.
But this groups should be awesome, provided they don’t pull a Chickenfoot.
Mikael + Steven vocal harmonies, will be amazing
Just imagine if they got Daniel gildenlow from Pain of Salvation for vocals… I think I would pass out from the awsomeness
If you threw in Omar and Cedric from the Mars Volta, with cedric for vocals, I would die.
