There will finally be some new music from Jimmy Page next year.

Talking to Sky News, the iconic Led Zeppelin guitarist said:

“Next year, I have every intention of playing music live and making it — manifesting it. I’ve got it. I’ve got it there. I’ve got the music waiting. It just needs to be done. So that’s it. That’s what I’ll be doing.

“It’s been two years since the O2 (the Zeppelin reunion show in December 2007). It’s time to do that.”

In further news, Blabbermouth is reporting that Page will join Shaun Keaveny to tell the inside story of Zep’s BBC sessions on BBC 6 Music on Friday, December 25.

Part one will air between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm (UK time), part two will air from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm (UK time)

You can listen to the program live via the Internet here.

Recalling the sessions, Page said:

“It just gave us an opportunity to come in and do what we had on our albums. A number like Dazed And Confused was never gonna get played on any other programmes. It gave an opportunity for anyone who hadn’t heard us to hear how we were moving the songs and making them take on a life of their own.”
