New Magnum Album Due In June
Midlands prog legends Magnum follow up their 2007 album Princess Alice And The Broken Arrow with a brand new studio recording, Into the Valley Of The Moonking, released on June 15 through SPV/Steamhammer.
Magnum have recorded 12 brand new tracks which, we hear, ‘are diverse and at the same time typical of the band – sensitive melodies with gritty hooks’.
All the songs were penned by the band’s guitarist Tony Clarkin who also produced the album.
Clarkin says: “My hope is to make it interesting for anyone who hears the album, so I put great emphasis on lyrics and musical arrangements. I think the common ground in all Magnum releases is that we take great pride in making a record and always do the best we can.”
Into The Valley Of The Moonking will be available in three different versions: as a regular jewel case CD, a top-quality Digipak consisting of CD and bonus DVD, and for collectors in vinyl format featuring two LPs and a gatefold cover.
The Bonus DVD features interviews with the whole band, live archive filmed at Birmingham Town Hall in December ’92 and Camden Palace in May ’85, as well as other features.
