The latest issue of Classic Rock Presents…Prog is out next Wednesday and will finally available to US readers!

Issue 3 of the sell-out Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine is on sale from August 5. This month’s cover stars Rush grace the magazine’s lavish wallet and there’s an extra special treat for Rush fans, as the magazine housed within the wallet will this issue feature four separate Rush covers for fans to collect. Each one will feature an iconic image from various stages of the Canadian superstars career – a must have for every Rush fan.

And there’s great news for our US readers too. As of issue 3 you will now be able to order copies of the magazine online at www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk, as can UK and European readers. Please bear in mind however that they do not have unlimited stock and once their allocation of copies has gone, then they’re gone.

Issue 3 of …Prog looks at the world of prog metal, featuring such genre stars as Dream Theater, Queensryche, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Voivod and Finnish siren Tarja, and an intriguing interview with the man who launched the legendary Vertigo label.

There are also brand new interviews with ex-Genesis guitarists Steve Hackett and Anthony Phillips, Marillion, The Gathering, War Of The World’s maestro Jeff Wayne, It Bites and even Captain Sensible. Plus there’s the usual round-up on the latest prog news and an even bigger reviews section than ever before.

All this plus a free CD featuring an hour’s worth of the finest new progressive music being made today.

Direct link, please!

The link you provide for ordering is just the main site. Can’t find the magazine and it doesn’t come up in the search function.

I will take you to task for taking a magazine that is hard to get in the best of circumstances and then offering “collectable” covers. Just what we need… more people buying more than one copy.

HECTOR GOMEZ

Hi folks! Just to let you know I ordered (from Spain) Prog Issue 2 on May 22, and I’m still waiting for it so, even if Issue 3 looks terrific, and RUSH are (and always will be) my faves, I think I’ll pass on this one.

Don’t know if readers and subscribers are happy, but I’m very disappointed with Future Publishing.

Cheers! Long live rock’n'roll!

Ryan Talbot

is the third issue available to pre-order on myfavoritemagazines.co.uk now? I don’t want to risk trying to order it the day it comes out.

still missed issue 2 !where are these mags being sold in kent?

William

Went to My Favourite Magazines and they said that Issue 3 is already sold out! What gives….?

“this issue [will] feature four separate Rush covers for fans to collect” – so every hardcore fan will have to buy four editions of this issue? Great move, especially that the number of copies is already limited – now it will be limited even more.

Graham Rhodes

Even though I am a big fan of Rush I will certainly not be buying four copies of the magazine at £7.99 each.
Does it tell you on the wallet which cover is inside?.
If not I don’t think the shop would be very happy with buyers opening up their stock of copies until they found all four covers!
It seems that people have trouble getting hold of one copy and now you are encouraging people to buy several.
Personally I think this is a very stupid idea!

S. Jones

I would love to buy the prog rock mags, but since the first two issues were in my local book store for the ridiculous price of $27 Canadian each…I think I’ll pass.

Can anyone confirm which new Porcupine Tree song will be on the free CD? Is it ‘Meantime’ from the ‘In Absentia’ sessions?

Carrie Henshaw

I heard that there will be a feature with TOUCHSTONE, great new prog band…Geoff Barton did an amazing review in this months Classic Rock, cheak out WINTERCOAST its ace…!!!

As Hector wrote above, i ordered issue 2 from Greece and it took more than one month to get the magazine delivered..

Please take care of that..

michael

I really would like to buy “prog rock” but apparently
here in Germany it is simply not available even in shops where I can buy classic rock.
So please deliver the mag to Germany asap!

stephen saleh

This is pure madness.
I’m subscribed to classic rock and want to subscribe to the prog version as well but can’t.
The link above takes you to a company that can’t supply it either and it doesn’t seem to be in any shops.
I had to but issue 1 on ebay for a stupid amount of money and got the last remaining copy in WHSmith of issue 2.
Isn’t it kind of obvious that you should (i) allow people to subscribe (ii) print more (iii) distribute it more

In fairness to CR, the magazine isn’t due out until August 5th. That’s possibly the reason that it’s not on the website yet. We’re all looking for something that isn’t on sale at the moment.

Having said that, CR hasn’t done a good job of jumping in and clarifying our issues. A simple post on their part could have cleared this up.

Be that as it may, let’s all hang tight until the 5th and see if we can find it on the website or in the stores at that time.

Great idea for a magazine but, searched for ages for issue 1… finally found one, leafed through it and decided nothing much new for £7.99….
Rush are my gods, so I thought four collectable covers, great, but hang on………. £7.99 each… Behave!!

You can find issue 2 at Borders as well as Barnes and noble.I bought my copy at a Borders, then was in a Barnes and Noble and saw they had 5 copies.
