Neil Young and Crazy Horse return to UK
Neil Young and Crazy Horse will return to the UK next year to headline the British Summer Time festival in London’s Hyde Park on July 12.
It had previously seemed likely that the band would never be seen again in Britain following the cancellation of shows in August as a result of guitarist Poncho Sampedro breaking his hand.
He’d earlier said: “My gut tells me this is really the last tour. I hate saying their ages, but I’m 64 and I’m the baby of the band.”
But now it’s been confirmed that Young and Crazy Horse will lead a bill also featuring The National, Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Phosphorescent and Flyte, as part of the British Summer Time event which runs from July 4 to 13. Tickets go on general sale on Friday at 9am, with many more artists to be announced for the four-stage event.
Classic Rock last week premiered Young’s new album Live At The Cellar Door, released today. Young and Crazy Horse’s recent album Psychedelic Pill has been nominated for a Grammy at next month’s awards.
