Mustaine Wants Photos; Does He Want Out Of His Label?

Dave Mustaine is looking for photos to go in his upcoming autobiography, Hello Me… Meet The Real Me. The Megadeth mainman is also cheesed off by what he perceives as a lack of support from his record company, Roadrunner, in promoting new album Endgame.

So, if you’ve got professional or amateur pictures of the Megadeth mainman from the following periods, then he wants to hear from you:

* His childhood

* His teenage years

* His first proper band, Panic

* Metallica

* Early Megadeth

One other thing he’s keen to get hold of is a photo of him feeding the pigeons in New York’s Central Park! Whether this is for use in the book, or because he wants to destroy the evidence, is uncertain!

If you’ve got anything like that, then contact Mustaine via his webmaster at www.megadeth.com

The book is due to be published next year by HarperCollins.

In further Mega-news, Mustaine has put the boot into his record company, Roadrunner.

Blabbermouth picked up on the following message posted by Mustaine in the ‘Forums’ section of the band’s official website:

“I hope that everyone that is in a band and has been watching how things have transpired are taking notes. This record [Megadeth's Endgame] has been out for weeks and weeks, and no radio play from the radio person ar Roadrunner, nothing. Zero.

“But that should be expected; this is the same guy I HAD TO ASK to get me interviews. Talk about a Gomer moment!

“Now, I am going to be forced to rely on my own radio station to play Megadeth, but that’s OK, I seem to be doing the label’s job every day, in every city, and I am used to it after these last two records.

“I am waiting to talk to the owner of Roadrunner, and all I ask is that you pray that this guy has even a modicum of respect for me and how hard I have been working for him. And he gets the lion’s share of the revenue, while I get news that with the best record I have recorded in decades has now dropped off of the charts.

“Kudos, Roadrunner, the is the first worldwide critically acclaimed record by the press, and the fans, and you just can’t seem to get this right. This is the first time that everyone likes a record of mine, and you can’t get us on the radio or into the stores.

“I can’t tell you how many stores I go into while on tour and I see nothing. And all I hear from Roadrunner is we are committed to the record.

“My ass.”

We must point out that this outburst was aimed solely at the record company in America. Mustaine has been at pains to stress how happy he’s been with the UK office.

Vibrations Of Doom Magazine

I’ve ALWAYS had more respect for Dave Mustaine than ANYONE at Metallica, uh, excuse me, I mean Alternica… Even though I haven’t been a big fan of post Countdown To Extinction Megadeth albums, I always respected that this man STILL plays metal… I will DEFINITELY check out the new ‘Deth album though, just out of respect to Mustaine… And Dave… Don’t be upset that Metallica got more success than you, because you have one thing that those sellout ass-hats will NEVER have. Integrity. and most of all… MY RESPECT….And some KILLER albums that I am more than happy to play ANY day of the week, and beaming with pride… I can’t even bring myself to listen to ANY Metallica album ANYTIME. I burned and destroyed all my Metallica stuff years ago… Dave Mustaine IS metal….

Well put it this way Dave, you ain’t going to get any better than Roadrunner, so it’s their way or the highway my egotistical little friend.

dont be such a fucktard. you obviously know shit all about music. so what if metallica stopped writing proper metal years ago, does it matter? i bet your one of those ass bandits that thought they sold out when they cut their hair. Mustaine plays a guitar very very well but hes a cock and he cant sing for shit. and who wants your respect? i dont. so you burnt your metallica stuff years ago? why? seems like a childish thing to do. why not throw it in the bin, or give it to someone, who likes good music. metal isnt the be all and end all of music, dont get me wrong i love metal. i listen to bands like lamb of god and god forbid most of my day. but i listen to other stuff aswell. why limit yourself to one type of music? its such a stupid thing to do. tart

my idol dave mustaine you have what metallica will never have which is integrity and the love of your fans, its a shame that your with a label that cant promote you the way that you should be promoted, from my part and from this side of the world i have promoted you by word of mouth and i will keep doing so, i have succeed once to have around 50 of my palz go to you gig in dubai and i wll keep promoting you, we are the fans and we have to backup our fav band and work on having our band recognized

“I burned and destroyed all my Metallica stuff years ago”. Yeh sure you did man, have you heard Death Magnetic? Its a pretty metal sounding album to me. Metallica haters really are amusing people sometimes.

The new Megadeth album is excellent and the guitar playing on it is outstanding in fairness ! Mustaine really should get more credit for his axe abilities!

If you ve ever liked Megadeth and are debating buying Endgame then debate no more !

Roadrunner USA weren’t great to Machine Head either….grrrr.
