Muse Break Aussie No Smoking Rule
Muse might not have a reputation for being bad boys of rock ’n’ roll, but they certainly didn’t amuse the powers-that-be at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne.
Bassist Chris Wolstenholme decided to flout the no smoking ban in the venue, by lighting up onstage. Apparently, at first he tried to hide this by only puffing when there was dry ice in use. But he soon gave up on that idea, and was openly smoking.
A spokesperson for the arena said: “Officials spoke to the band before and after the show, and we were extremely disappointed when they decided to flaunt our strict no-smoking policy. They are known as an anti-establishment style of performance group, but it was still sad that they decided to go ahead regardless”.
