Vince Neil in emergency kidney stones op
Vince Neil has revealed the reason behind his hospital dash – he was suffering from kidney stones.
The Motley Crue singer called a halt to the band’s show in Sydney, Australia on Sunday after finding himself in too much pain to continue. Doctors operated on him soon afterwards and he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Neil posted a picture of himself in hospital and explained: “Just out of surgery. Spent night in hospital, probably have to again tonight. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. Doc says I should be back onstage for the Brisbane show tomorrow. Thanks to my bandmates and crew for your support!”
Meanwhile, bassist Nikki Sixx has explained via Facebook: “Vince was doubled over on his dressing room floor five minutes to showtime and was told by the promoter to not even play – but Vince said he couldn’t do that to the fans.
“I’ve seen Vinnie go onstage with broken bones, his voice completely blown out and torn ligaments, but he never ever cancels… Just like an athlete, you sometimes have to play through the pain, but last night it became to excruciating.”
Sixx recently said Motley Crue were planning to retire after completing work on their The Dirt movie and soundtrack, releasing a final album and performing a farewell tour. He insisted there would be no chance of a comeback afterwards, stating: “It’s important that when you do a farewell tour that people understand. When you put a bullet in the back of the horse’s head and it goes down, it’s not a plastic bullet – it’s a fucking shotgun blast. Blow its fucking brains out. It’s never coming back.”
