Mostly Autumn Lose Singer

Heather Findlay has left Mostly Autumn.

The singer, who recently became a mother, has said of her decision:

“At this point in time I can’t see a formula that allows Mostly Autumn to be part of the HF equation. Not only for my own sake but for the sake of Mostly Autumn as well, which as you know requires 110% dedication.

“So, for now at least, I just cannot imagine having the time and energy it would take to tame and tailor the passion I have to pour into my own musical ventures alongside co-nurturing Mostly Autumn and giving to it all the love, care and attention that it so richly deserves.

“The timing I feel is right. I have not yet become involved in the new Mostly Autumn record and there are no shows imminently pending. It is a new year and a new decade to boot.”

There will be one final Mostly Autumn gig with Findlay. This is at the Assembly Rooms in Leamington Spa on April 2. In the meantime, the bad are already working on a new album, with Olivia Sparnenn taking over on lead Vocals. It’s to be titled Get Well – Diamond Heart and released in the Spring.

Findlay is currently working on a new project, which she says will be a full band, with an album due later in the year.

This is a shame as Heather has been a great frontwoman for the band. Mostly Autumn must be one of the hardest working bands – constantly toruing and releasing recordings. It’s a pity that they haven’t received more coverage in Classic Rock as they deserve a higher profile. ‘Storms over still water’ should have been their breakthrough album in my opinion and the band should now be playing bigger venues. Anyway good luck to Heather on her solo journey and to Mostly Autumn and to Livvy on her promotion!

Thanks for all the great memories, gigs and songs, Heather has been a superb singer for this brilliant band for over a decade and it is really sad that she is leaving. Olivia Sparnen is, however, taking over the lead vocals and she is an awesome singer so there are no worries about the bands future.
Classic rock it is about time you properly covered British bands currently producing top quality classic rock like Mostly Autumn, The Reasoning and Panic Room, rather than living in the past with old heavy metal

What a shock! I love Mostly Autumn & for me Heathers vocals are the main reason I like them so much. However I’m sure Olivia will do a great job & I can’t wait to hear Heathers new stuff.

I echo the comments about CR covering more British bands. MA work their asses off but don’t seem to get the coverage they deserve.
