The sheer physicality of a Metallica show far outweighs a Purps show. Sorry but that's a fact. Yes DP are "musicians" but so are Metallica. Accepting an award doesn’t make them celebrities. Or does that mean anyone accepting a BRIT award or a Grammy or a MOBO is a “celebrity”? Oh and by the way… should we mention the celebrity (for chariddy mate) version of Smoke On The water released in the late 80s?? The main reason that Purple still exists is not because they never tried to be celebrities (because to be fair their day was the 70s.... pretty certain they were "celebrities" then...) it's because of the 93 "reunion" failed and Blackmore left.
