Metallica Play First 30th Anniversary Show
Some major names from the world of rock and metal guested with Metallica last night (December 5), when the band played the first of four shows at the Filmore in San Francisco as part of a week-long celebration of their 30th anniversary.
Jaosn Newsted rejoined his one-time bandmates for Harvester Of Sorrow and Damage Inc. Biff Byford got up for Saxon’s Motorcycle Man, while ex-Metal Church guitarist John Marshall (a former Metallica roadie) played on Sad But True. And Apocalyptica did No Leaf Clover and One with them.
Perhaps most surprising of all was the presence of Diamond Head pair Sean Harris and Brian Tatler for four of their own songs:
Am I Evil?
The two haven’t performed together since 2004.
Metallica hope Ozzy and Lemmy will both join them at one of the remaining gigs.
