Metallica Caught In Columbia Riot

There was rioting in Columbia when Metallica played an outdoor show in Bogota a couple of days ago.

Hundreds of ticketless fans tried to storm into Simon Boliva Park, leading to eight people being hospitalized and one youth getting stabbed. There were also quite a few arrests, although estimates vary from 130 to 168.

Apparently, those unlucky enough not to have a ticket were being encouraged to riot via posts on Facebook, while the police presence at the gig was said to be very heavy. There were even four tanks deployed.

Talk about Damage, Inc! Or, indeed, Seek And Destroy! See the mayhem for yourself below.

Honest Joe

Guys…it is Colombia, not Columbia.
May be it is because it does not happen often (I mean the visit of big bands like Metallica), things tend to get out of hands, and neither the fans nor the police take a civilized approach to something that plain and simple, is about fun. In Argentina we also have to suffered the brainless fans and the not so gifted police harrasing everybody just becuase it is about Metal.
