Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash Hold Charity Auction

mdome / News / 16/02/2010 16:30pm

Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash are currently running an online auction to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The idea was inspired by nine-year-old Wishbone Ash fan Amy J. Bannister, who’s recorded a cover of their classic song Throw Down The Sword from the album Argus. Amy lost her grandfather to cancer and she’s donating all proceeds to the same charity.

The auction has various Wishbone Ash ‘bundles’ up for grabs, with the top prizes being:

* A pair of VIP tickets for Classic Rock’s High Voltage Festival at Victoria Park in London on July 24/25.

* A pair of tickets and backstage passes for the Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash gig at the Y Club in Leicester on March 13, where the proceeds from the auction will be handed over to the charity.

* A visit to the studio to see the band recording.

* Signed vintage Wishbone Ash posters, plus rare vinyl pressings of Wishbone Ash albums and Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash merchandising.
