Maiden’s Charity Auction
Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood is aiming to raise over £150,000 for the charities Childline and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy via a sponsored bike ride in Egypt.
This will happen at the end of the month in Egypt, when Smallwood and 40 pals will ride the 100 miles or so along the Nile, between Aswan and Luxor, covering the distance in just 48 hours. (Presumably the bikes will have floats attached? – Ed.)
To help boost the fund, three special items are currently being auctioned at www.ironmaidencom.
These are:
ITEM ONE: GIBSON EPIPHONE LES PAUL CUSTOM GUITAR
Not only is it one of the guitars which Adrian Smith plays, but it’s been autographed by the whole band.
ITEM TWO: COLOUR POSTER FOR THE DVD RELEASE OF FLIGHT 666
Again, signed by all the members of Maiden.
ITEM THREE: PERSONALISED USA PLATINUM DISC ENGRAVED TO ROD SMALLWOOD
This is to commemorate USA sales of over 100,000 copies for the DVD Flight 666.
The auction is on now, and lasts until February 2.

Good work Rod. Top bloke, evidenced by his constant updates, on road reports etc. on the Maiden website. A truly great manager.
