Maiden, Rammstein Top The Bill At Sonisphere 2010
Iron Maiden and Rammstein are to headline next year’s Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth Park.
It’ll happen on July 30, 31 and August 1. We’re not exactly sure of the date Maiden are playing – but whichever one it is, it’ll be their only UK show in 2010.
Frontman Bruce Dickinson says:
“Knebworth has been the home of so many legendary concerts going back many years it really will be a privilege to play there. We enjoy the camaraderie of playing great festivals and are very much looking forward to getting back out to do some shows next summer and, as it will be over two years since we played the UK, we will certainly be looking to deliver a memorable and spectacular night for our fans!”
Other bands already confirmed are Alice Cooper, Slayer, Anthrax, Iggy & The Stooges, The Cult, Motley Crue (their only British date next year) and The Cult.

Interesting… as Metallica have just announced that they’re headlining this accross Europe this summer! Maiden AND Metallica??????
Saw this coming when Nicko said at the CR Awards that he went to last years. Bit of a shame. Been into Maiden 23 years, yet wont be seeing them this time as simply cant afford the unbelievable Sonisphere ticket prices. Sure am not the only Maiden fan to be similarly gutted….
yeah.seems bit unfair that you have to buy tickets for whole weekend.im sure with bands already mentioned it would be great few days,but this is one i wont be going to.i think same thing is goona happen with the festival at victoria park as well.ridiculous,15 mins from where i live,no transport costs yet i still wont be paying for whole weekend tickets.are promoters aware we are still in a recession.

Once again only one UK show for the year!!! Come on Maiden. To bring the family to see you, as is necessary these days cos they’re all metal and Maiden fans it’ll cost me over £600 for tickets alone. So thanks for the one show but we’ll be missing you this time round. So as with Agent Robbo, gutted!!!!!!
it’s a 3 day event now, the same price as last year and still cheaper than download. It’s scarcely unbelievable

Totally agree with Agent Robbo – ticket prices are a disgrace. Would’ve loved to have seen Rammstein, Maiden and Alice Cooper but can’t afford it.
Was there last year and without doubt will be there next year. Already shaping up nicely and added bonus it’s only half an hour away from home instead of the usual 2.5 hour trek to Donington
Brilliant line-up, fair prices but come on Maiden two gigs in two years both in the south of England. I think the fans are starting to get a bit of a short shrift. We have airports up here you know Bruce !!
