Ean Evans found dead, aged 48.

Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans has been found dead in Mississippi. It is being reported that he had been suffering from cancer.

Formerly a member of Cupid’s Arrow and Florida’s Outlaws, he joined the Lynyrd Skynyrd ranks in 2001 following the death of previous bassist Leon Wilkeson.

A statement on Lynyrd Skynyrd’s website reads: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of long-time Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans. Ean put up a valiant battle with an aggressive form of cancer and he will be sorely missed by family, friends and fans.”

It is unsure whether or not the band’s UK dates at the end of this month will take place.

Do they still have enough members left alive to form a band?

RIP……ean evans, god bless you and your family and friends.

He wasn’t “found dead.” Where do thee headlines come from? He died peacefully with his family at his side in his home after a long illness. He knew he was going and he is in a better place now.

God loves Skynyrd, he just don’t like Gary.
