Lostprophets Watkins accused of conspiracy to rape one-year-old girl
Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins was yesterday accused of conspiracy to rape a one-year-old girl.
The musician, who has not admitted to any offences, appeared in court in Cardiff and was refused bail.
He was also charged with four offences relating to possession and distribution of indecent images of children. A 24-year-old woman who cannot be named for legal reasons faced the same charges, while a 20-year-old woman, who also cannot be named, was charged with five offences relating to indecent images.
Watkins will remain in prison until his appearance at Cardiff Crown Court on December 31.
The other members of Lostprophets – Lee Gaze, Mike Lewis, Stuart Richardson, Jamie Oliver and Luke Johnson – have released a brief statement in which they say: “Following charges made today against Ian Watkins, we find ourselves in a state of shock.
