Led Zep Will Go Ahead Without Plant
Jimmy Page’s manager Peter Mensch has confirmed that Led Zeppelin will find themselves a new lead singer this year.After Plant confirmed that he would not be taking part in any further Led Zeppelin endeavours and will allegedly be recording with Alsion Krauss again this month, rumours have continued to swill that the remaining members of Led Zep will push on with touring without their former singer (though it remains to be seen whether or not they will use the name Led Zeppelin).
In the latest twist in the tale, Jimmy Page’s manager Peter Mensch has told 6Music “”Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16 years old. Jimmy Page likes being a musician. That’s what he does! He doesn’t want to be a race car driver or a solicitor.”
“So they did the show with Robert Plant; they had a really good time rehearsing, the three of them, before Robert showed up.”
“And they decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill – whatever their bill was at this stage in their career – that they’d make a record and go on tour.”
“John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page enjoy playing with each other, Jason Bonham is a really good drummer so why not? We just need to find a singer.”

Yes, JP, JPJ and Bonzo junior would make a great band with whoever would fit on vocals. People only want to say they’ve seen Led Zeppelin – anything else needs explaining (which is why David Gilmour used the Pink Floyd name) and who wants to explain anything.?? But I hope very soon the guys record, tour under whatever name they decide. heh, maybe they can have the Yardbirds as an opening act…
