Lars Ulrich Names His Albums And Songs Of The Decade

Uh-oh. Turns out the Metallica drummer *hearts* Arctic Monkeys, Eminem, U2 and Kasabian…

Rolling Stone magazine recently asked Lars Ulrich for his top albums and songs of the Noughties – and the somewhat surprising results can be seen below. (Wot, no Diamond Head? – Ed.)

Hmm. That’s a good point.

We should remind Lars that DH released not one but two studio albums during the 00s: All Will Be Revealed (2005) and What’s In Your Head (2007). Plus they put out a couple of live albums: Live – In The Heat Of The Night (2000) and It’s Electric (2006).

So we think we are entitled to ask: “What’s going on in your head, Mr Ulrich?!”

Rolling Stone also quizzed Kirk Hammett, Tom Morello, Jeff Ament and a bunch of other (not necessarily Classic Rock-related) people for their choices.

You can check out the full list of their… er… lists here.

No Iron Maiden either… This is the man who used to worship everything ‘Arry Harris did.

No wonder Metallica hasn’t made a decent album in 18 years. They just don’t like metal anymore. And that’s exactly how “Death Magnetic” sounds: a band that tries to recapture their old sound but fails miserably because their heart is no longer in it.

I disagree German ze Herman, ‘Death Magnetic’ was a great album!!

A very diverse list there indeed!!

Niall Carville

While Johnny Cash is without a doubt a legend, Thirteen was put out in 1994. Unless Lars thinks he can bend the laws of time and space.

P.s He probably does.

Artic Monkeys most important album of the decade??? Comaan man hes having a giraffe.

Been listening too much to his sons record collection methinks.

Markos B

The personal highlight for me was ‘Get Busy’ by Sean Paul. I’m all up for diversity but Lars, mate, come on… we all know its about ‘Like Glue’

This is pathetic… first Them crooked vultures support Arctic monkeys and now Lars Ulrich Is there number one fan???

Agent Robbo

No wonder Hetfield went a bit bonkers, working with that twat.

Valveman

Why give a fuck??? you like what you like, end of story…We are all the same.

Metallica are the Man Utd of Metal. The band that is like by people who are not really metal fans. Man Utd are the team people who are not true football fans support.
My friend likes both and doesn’t know where 2010 is being held, and though Paranoin was an Ozzy osbourne song.

Who really cares….the guy is a tool, always has been, always will be….Metallica are just the ‘Bon Jovi’ of metal….££££££’s is ALL they care about!!! and it shows!!!

Okay let me get this straight! People are talking shit about Lars because he listens to music OTHER than metal!?!? Grow up lads! I used to be like ye too, but stop trying to put yourselves in boxes! One of my best mates is in a death metal band but he listens to a bit of classical music too. Personnally I can listen to bands from Carcass, Primordial, Hexxed, Slipknot and Metallica to U2, Kings Of Leon and Dolores O’Riordan!

Such simple minded comments. We cannot all like the same things and the same people and the same music. Fact is classical music paved our way to where we are now and Metallica helped pave the way to some of the bands that were mentioned as ” better “. Everthing cannot be 100 percent all of the time we are human so let us have error already! metallica is awesome always will be am I a horrible person because I like Chuck Berry? Much like I’m sure Lars is thinking its my opinion so who cares what you think.
