Krusher’s Embassy Club Blog
A few words about the brand new weekly Classic Rock club night at London’s Embassy club from the man himself.
Krusher is Classic Rock’s brand new club night at London’s Embassy Club, every Monday night. Featuring reduced drink prices and the very best tunes being spun through the venue’s state of the art sound-system, Monday nights have never rocked harder!
Check out Krusher’s Monday night setlist and here’s the man himself’s take on our opening night:
Every decade has had a London rock club that’s been recorded in the annals of rock history, oooeeeeer missus!
The 1960’s provided the Marquee, ’nuff said!
The 1970’s the Speakeasy, where the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, the Beatles and the Stones would gather to watch new bands and more importantly to jam.
The 1980’s gave us the notorious Embassy Club, managed by Mark Fuller, where any self respecting new rock talent would play, whilst the likes of Phil Lynott, Lemmy, Gary Moore and Ozzy looked on as they spilt their drinks at the bar. Again, this night was known for its infamous late night jam sessions. In fact, the Embassy clientele had to be one of the bravest in London, considering the clubs close proximity to Saville Row police station and their over zealous Vice Squad, who were always looking for promotion.
The 1990’s, we had the legendary Hipperdrome Rock night, hosted and DJ’d by the outrageously dangerous Krusher, a man beyond hope or redemption (that’s me folks). 1,800 rock fans would crowd in weekly to rub oily chests and watch new talent strut their stuff on stage whilst the likes of Bon Jovi and Metallica fought each other with handbags over who was to have use of the VIP balcony box, and again not forgetting some quite unbelievable jam sessions. Happy daze, indeed!!
So that brings us to the 2000’s and with only a year and a bit before the first decade has finished, it’s time to bring back Rock with a capital R to the London club scene.
So on Monday, March 2nd, the Embassy Club, now owned by Mark Fuller, proudly opened it’s doors to bring you a night of ROCK hosted by myself and we decided to give it the cunningly genius title of ‘KRUSHER’.
A night where something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue will be coming at you live between your naked, steaming thighs and ears EVERY MONDAY!
The opening nights live music was provided by the quite magnificent Quireboys, supported by the equally impressive Imperial Vipers.
Both bands provided rockingly raucous sets the Vipers ending there’s with the Beatles classic ‘Revolution’ and the Quireboys ended there’s with a glorious sing your heart out version of ‘7 O’Clock’. My thanks goes to both bands for their help and support.
On the ‘death-decks’ special guests the Rev and Lags from Gallows were spinning those magic silver discs and I got up to my usual mischief when it came to DJ duties.
Amongst those spilling drinks in the audience were the legendary ex Motorhead guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke, Bucket from Bad Company, Heavy Metal Kids guitarist Cosmo, who’s current band Raw Glory will be playing on the 23rd of March supported by LAMF, 1993 Stunt Bike World Champion Eddie Kidd and his fiancée Sami, former Rock Goddess guitarist and vocalist Jody Turner and original Quireboy Guy Bailey to name a few.
Next week the live music will be provided by Xphere and Gripshift, two damned fine new bands that I highly recommend seeing.
Of course there will be the return of the mighty late night jam session with no doubt a few surprise faces getting up to throw shapes and sing for us and not forgetting there’s plenty of cheap booze to tickle your laughing gear with!!!.
So in a nutshell, for the cost of a lousy fiver Monday’s at the Embassy Club, 29 Old Burlington Street, W1S 3AN from 9pm to 2am is the place to be if you wanna ROCK HARD! ROCK HEAVY!! ROCK ANIMAL!!!!

Fantastic blog Krusher, good to have people like you promoting the best music in the world. Heavy Metal is a religion and therefore should be promoted relentlessly. If you need any written help, or support of this nature, please let me know. I will help if I can.
Keep rockin’
