Kiss Do Kids’ TV Deal
Move over Scooby-Doo – there’s a Kiss TV comedy show on the way!
The legendary band have teamed up with E1 Entertainment to develop a series of half-hour comedy programmes, aimed at the kids’ market.
Says Gene Simmons: “Kiss continues to be the juggernaut of licensing and merchandising, from Kiss M&M’s to Kiss Dr Pepper. Kiss is a band, but also the only music BRAND. Continuing in our 35-year history of going where no band has gone before, we are proud to partner with E1. Like all things Kiss, we intend to make this a very special show for our fans.”
Let’s hope it’s better than the 1978 film Kiss Meet The Phantom Of The Park, which was unintentionally hilarious! (Whaddya mean? It’s a cinematic milestone! – Kiss Ed.)

Incidentally, we mentioned Scooby-Doo for a reason. Did you know that Gene Simmons made a ‘guest appearance’ in a 1978 episode? Well, check out The Diabolical Disc Demon here.
…And you can see an excerpt from Kiss’ brilliant Phantom movie here.

just show footage of gene’s wigs thru the years that will reduce any crowd to tears of laughter!
well, they are pretty much a joke.
I’m sure all of Kiss appeared in an episode of Scooby Doo and played a song (Shout It Out Loud?) – during one of the series’ where there was always a guest “star”. Tell me I haven’t dreamt this!!
Geez!
I like KISS, but this stuff is getting ridiculous.
I thought the Monkees in the 60’s had the corner on TV and kids show stuff?
Move over Monkees, here comes KISS.
“KIDS IN SILLY SUITS”
@Dex Low…yeh they did a couple of years ago, it was really really sad and made me die a little inside when i saw it…..and this is ridiculous
KISS was also on Family Guy and I believe The Simpsons — admittedly not kids shows but still cartoons — and let’s not forget the comic books.

I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE KISS JUST CONCENTRATE ON ROCKnROLL. THOUGHT SOMETHING WAS UP WITH THEM CATERING TO ALL THE KIDS. SEEMS LIKE A KISS KIDS CIRCUS. SOME MERCH IS OKAY, SOME TV IS GOOD, BUT ALL THIS KIDS KISS SHIT IS SAD! WHAT WAS IT THEY SAID BACK IN THE DAY ABOUT HOW THEY DIDN’T WANT TO MAKE A CARICATURE OF THEMSELVES.
Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley, who at one time in the early-70’s, took KISS seriously as a BAND, hence KISS ALIVE!
Fast forward now to the present day. Just a couple of money-hungry shysters looking for the next buck to earn. KISS M&Ms anyone, at 6 bucks for a tiny bag?! But collect all 4! SONIC BOOM on vinyl but released ONLY as a hard-to-get collector’s item that’s now selling on eBay for ridiculous prices?!
Sad but true!
Seriously, why does this so called piece of ‘news’ make it to the top of this weeks CR newsletter? How much money are those two greedy control freaks and shameless destroyers of a legend paying you to keep them in the public eye like you are? Furthermore, how much did they pay you to claim that Sonic Boom was the ninth (!!!) best album of 2009? “Best not push it, and say it was even better than that lads, or people will get suspicious eh?” Please just ignore them. We know they aren’t going to go away gracefully, but the least you can do is keep them from soiling the pages of your otherwise fine magazine.
Do these kids know that the show will feature oap’s?
Dear Al, ME & boob, I mean bob.
When ur all dead and buried (taking up valueable realestate) KISS will be ever evolving, revolutionizing &dominating planet KISS. U can take all the other lazy, boring & downright irrelivant bands U like & put them in same hole ur left in.
To infinity & beyond.
Captain of KISS army.
Gene Simmons also brought Li’l Chris to public attention via his ‘Rock School’ programme, but whether it came before or after the movie ‘School Of Rock’ I don’t know!
Thee only thing I can see that would be good about this move would be to get kids back into REAL-ROCK & ROLL again. God knows they had an influence on me back in the day–and that got me to learn how to play guitar!!! Now I’ve been playing & writng at a serious level for about 35 years now…so I can’t complain…I LOVE IT!!! Thanx–Gene, Paul, Peter & Ace!!! FOR REAL, Doug / tonejonez
