Jokers Wild! What Might Happen If Rock Met Comedy

With the news that Tommy Lee has teamed up with US comedian Dane Cook to do an album. We got to thinking about other suitable hook-ups between rock and comedy. We can do a compilation album called the The Merry Mirthful Mash-Up. And it’ll feature:

Lemmy and June Whitfield: they probably shared a brew or two in the days when Lemmy roadied for Hendrix and June was canoodling with Terry. A chance for a reimagining of Stand By Your Man?

Gene Simmons and Harry Enfield: Loadsa Money – nuff said?

Steven Tyler and Jim Carrey: anyone else reckon Carrey’s performance in The Mask was very Tyler-like?

Bruce Dickinson and Ben Elton: Elton could turn The Adventures Of Lord Iffy Boatrace into a decent musical. There’s a challenge.

Robert Plant and Frank Skinner: if only because Skinner is a big time West Bromwich Albion fan and Planty has a passion for Wolverhampton Wanderers – clubs who hate each other. Don’t ya just love the possibilities?

Jon Bon Jovi and Jo Brand: it just seems so right, somehow. Sonny & Cher’s I Got You Babe would sound marvellous.

Tarja Turunen and Gerry Sadowitz: what on earth would the former Nightwish diva make of the loony Scots outrageous banter? The album would be, er, interesting.

James Hetfield and ‘Weird’ Al Yankovic: Now that is a weird combination – and we mean weird!

Geezer Butler and Stephen Lewis: Lewis in his Blakey character from On The Buses, bawling out, “I ‘ate you, Butler!”, Niiice.

Rick Wakeman and…well, Rick Wakeman: perfect, the man can work with himself.  A recipe for unity, if ever there was one.

Of course, mention must also be made of a festival with Steel Panther, Bad News and Spinal Tap. Now, it’s over to you. Any suggestions for the Comedy Of Rock?

Chickpea's Dad

How about a comedy where two original members of a band are replaced with two lookalikes who wear the exact same make-up as the original two.

Yeah! How about Ronnie Corbett and Alice Cooper, as they are mates already and we’d like to see more of Alice in CR.
Should be a luahg, go for it!
