Bla Bla Bla same old really, Lizzy was Phill and whatever guitarist happened to be around, so what’s new there. They all, guitarist that is, gave a bit of themselves to the unique sound that Lizzy had created, each one of the guitarist was brilliant in their own right. Phill and Downey and later Wharton cementing the whole thing together. Id pay to see any of the artist play and if they played Lizzy then all the better. I was lucky enough to see Gary Moore’s tribute to Phill at Dublin in 2005 I think and it was just amazing and you know what, people were saying, Moore did the band injustice and it wasn’t Thin Lizzy, I listened in disbelief as people complained it wasn’t Thin Lizzy. Strange enough if they bothered to look at their ticket it said Gary Moore Tribute to Phillo with special guests. You just cant please some people. Incidentally if you Google Gary Moore tribute to Phill there is a DVD. Make you own mind up. Probably the best gig iv been to. Keep Lizzy alive!!

Only just found out about Sykes leaving, but am not surprised.
The last gig in Manchester was terrible and it was clear that they were just going through the motions.

I saw Lizzy three times with Phil and loads of times since. The Gorham, Sykes, Mendoza, Lee (RIP) line up was bril and put on some excellent shows, but the last tour was a tour too far.

Scott needs to get Robertson or Moore in and get rid of the new bassist or I certainly won't be bothering again.

Another thumbs up for Limehouse as well, awesome!

Thank god I say. Touring under the Lizzy name without Phil is just ridiculous. Any band that doesn't have the original singer is never going to work. And Phil was the very heart of the band.
The statue opening tribute gig with Moore and Downey was brilliant and tastefully done - and they were smart enough to do it as a one-off.
Plus Sykes was a one album Lizzy member, not from the great period of the late 70s. Yes he can play guitar, but he plays like a twiddly metal wanker. Boring and doesn't do the songs justice.
And for those who were too young to see the original Lizzy (like myself) - so what? Just watch the dvds or videos on Youtube - at least there's that. I'd rather blast out the Live & Dangerous dvd anyday than see some second rate Lizzy.
By the way, I read that Scott is working on remastering the dvd sound of the Sydney Opera House show - awesome, as the current dvd sound sucks.

Tell Scott to get Robbo ,Downey and the guy from the THIN AS LIZZY tribute band, that way they will resemble THIN LIZZY.
John is an outstanding guitarist but in my opinion he was far too heavy for THIN LIZZY,

As a Sykes fan........My twopenneth is this .....Sykes never was the soul of Lizzy, and never will be; Sykes has much material that needs to be aired, to old and new fans...And frankly, he should look to himself before announcing COV` needs a `kick up the backside`,and `(Thrashing) with a les paul`..Heal thy self, FREE thyself.
`Limehouse are better `at lizzy` than you..`leave Tribute status alone....With due respect to others you`re nearly 50 let`s hear the real Sykes sound again
My credit card is burning..for that day
Get on with it..................
